Founder and Pastor, Dr. A. Erven Burke had a burden on his heart to help families and provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children. TCCEEC was established to meet the ever increasing needs of quality day care with an emphasis on early education based on the Word of God. As a ministry of Twin City Baptist Temple, we provide a caring Christian environment that allows children to grow spiritually, physically, and socially, preparing them for their academic career. We strive to instill moral character building principles in order to aid parents in producing a well-rounded individual. We believe that children learn much through experience. The teachers focus on identifying those experiences which bring about continued growth for the child. Learning and development result from the individual child interacting with his environment. Part of your child’s experience here will include prayer to start the day and before snacks and lunch. Our Bible based curriculum for the day care is A Beka, a well known, nationally used Christian curriculum providing academic excellence as well as integrating Christian principles. The curriculum emphasizes number recognition, counting, letter recognition, letter formation, and color recognition. We focus on social development, teaching respect for one another, motor development, creativity, independence, and self-sufficiency. Aspects of these areas are incorporated in the child’s activities during the day. Families play an important role in our program. Parents are the most influential part of the child’s world and their involvement with their child’s care is essential. We believe that active participation in the center leads to a beneficial parent-teacher partnership as well as provides a consistent home and school Christian environment.
